Sheffield Basketball

Five unbeatens remain

Through the first month and a bit of the new SBL season there are still unbeaten teams in each division.

In Division 4 Sheffield Medics have started the season 3-0 - matching their win total from last season already. Their closest victory came in a 75-74 win over Sheffield Chinese 2, who had been unbeaten up to that game also.

In Division 3 Sheffield Storm 1 have dominated the competition to start with five straight wins. They have scored at least 73 points in all of their games and no one has scored more than 59 points against them as they have won their games by an average of more than 30 points.

In Division 2 newcomers Sheffield Hallam University have hit the ground running in victories over Rotherham Rams, Team Nook 2 and Barnsley Barbarians.

In Division 1 there are still two unbeaten teams in the shape of Team Nook 1 and Titans. Both teams have had tough games with Nook only just surviving against Darfield in a 74-72 win and Titans scraping by Sheffield Starz 1 84-80 in their opening game.

November starts with a little freindly University rivalry spilling over on to the basketball court as Hallam face USB Spartans 1 in Division 2.

There are also important clashes in the other divisions as teams jockey for position in the early going.
