All set for title deciding month

As expected not much changed in the title races during the month of February.

The two games that might have some say come the end of the season were a 66-63 victory for Wickersley Vikings over Darfield in Division 2 and a 77-63 win for Sheffield Storm 1 over Rotherham Rams in Division 3.

In both cases the losers had been tied at the top of their respective table in terms of losses. However, each of the affected teams still have their fates in their own hands - they just cannot afford any more slip ups.

March promises to be the month where titles are decided. First up the Division 4 title will be claimed on March 2. Ecclesall Hunters will claim the trophy if they defeat Worksop, but a loss will open the door for Retford Rampage or even for Worksop if Retford slip up against Hillsborough.

Even before that there is a massive game in Division 1 as G-Corp meet up with Team Nook 1 with both teams standing at 8-1 on the season. G-Corp won the first meeting this season so another victory will give them the inside track on the championship. On the other hand a victory for Team Nook will make them heavy favourites to their fourth consecutive Divison 1 title.

The Division 2 title is Titans 2 to lose, but they face games against an in form Wickersley Vikings (four wins in a row) and then the two other title contenders - Team Nook 2 and Darfield. With Team Nook 2 and Darfield also due to clash in the month there is still plenty of drama left in the title race.

In Division 3, the title is likely to be decided on Marh 16 when leaders Titans 3 meet up with Rotherham Rams. Titans are one loss ahead in the league standings, but the pair have split their games so far this season so a victory for Rams will give them the head-to-head tie-breaker.
