Storm move to brink of title

Sheffield Storm 1 have moved to within one victory of the Division 3 title after a pair of convincing wins since Xmas.

Storm moved to 10-0 on the season with a 58-30 win against Worksop followed by a 69-57 victory over closest rivals Sheffield Chinese 1.

They could claim the title next week as they face a Hillsborough side that they have already beaten 77-32 earlier this season.

Sheffield Storm 2 are also having a strong season and picked up another three wins in January to remain hot on the heels of Sheffield Medics in the Division 4 title race.

Medics also won both of their games last month, setting up a pivotal clash between the two on February 22.

In Division 2, it was a great month for Team Nook 2 as they picked up three victories to move to 7-3 on the season.

Included in these victories was an impressive 94-77 win over previously unbeaten division leaders Sheffield Hallam University.

The title is still Hallam's to lose as they sit clear at the top of the table with a 7-1 record.

It was a quiet month in Division 1, but there was still time for Titans to solidify their title credentials with a pair of comfortable wins over Loxley and Darfield.

As well as the big Division 4 clash in February there are a number of games that will be key in the battle to avoid a last placed position in each division as the season moves to its end.
