Division 1 title to be decided in final week

With just six games remaining in the entire regular season the Division 1 title is still yet to be decided.

The champions will be crowned on Wednesday as Titans face off against G-Corp knowing that a victory will give them the title, whereas a loss will allow Team Nook 1 to claim their fifth consecutive championship.

Nook did everything in their power to keep the title race alive this month. They claimed four consecutive victories including a 78-69 success against Titans. Unfortunately their margin of victory over Titans was not enough to give them the head-to-head tie-breaker meaning that the title is still Titans' to lose.

The first time Titans met G-Corp this season they won 107-76, so they will be strong favourites to claim their first ever Division 1 title.

All of the other division titles have now been decided. Sheffield Hallam University picked up the Division 2 crown in their first season in the league thanks to an 11-1 season, picking up three wins in March to cap off an excellent season. They will hope to be a threat to claim another piece of silverware as they participate in the upcoming SBL Cup.

The other title that was decided in the month was in Division 4 and it was Sheffield Medics who claimed the trophy on the back of a 10-2 season.

Medics clinched the title with a 48-31 victory over USB Spartans 2 - who had been the only team to beat them up to that point. A defense that held opponents to 48 points per game was the backbone of their title success.

The regular season wraps up this week, with the action then moving to knockout games.
